He who has undertaken the pastoring of souls must prepare himself to render to God an account of them. 1

He who labors as he prays lifts his heart to God with his hands. 2

It is well to deny ourselves that which is permitted, in order to avoid more easily that which is not. 3

Let a man consider that God always seeth him from Heaven, that the eye of God beholdeth his works everywhere, and that the angels report them to Him every hour. 4

Pray and work. 5

It is only we who brood over our sins. God does not brood over them, God dumps them at the bottom of the sea. 6

Respect the elders and love the young...if you have a disagreement with someone, make peace with them before the sun goes down. Finally, and importantly, never lose hope in God's mercy. 7
